Solar attenuating windscreen

Pretty sure it’s heat + slowing down fading of materials from the sun. They have those folding “shields” you can put in your windshield after you park that so the same thing, just wouldn’t have it while driving. As I assume I will break at least one windshield in the first year or two it didn’t matter much to me.

It's the largest window in the car that can't be tinted (easily). I believe all the other windows come tinted except for the front doors so I could see its benefits mitigating the sun's effects while parked or on long drives.

Hidden benefits to Solarguard. I put the same tech, at much greater expense, in my aircraft. 1st, lowers the temp in the aircraft, passively. Second, cuts down UV by a huge percent. What is the big deal about UV, not just skin cancer but cataracts. While it makes no big improvement in your life today, aside from some small stuff. It really makes a big deal later on in life. I don't know about you, but the thought of having my eyes sliced open and new lenses inserted kind of gives me the *******. Then there is just last week where the dermatologist was spraying liquid nitrogen all over my face like a leaking nuke reactor. Kind of drives the point home. Then there is one of my best friends died young of Melanoma, a rather horrid way to die I might add. So there are some things to consider that make it almost as good an option as airbags, just not for today, but later. So it was a must have for me and the films, while they work, kind of suck in the long run.
