Default Spare Tire Mount

Does anyone know if a 2020 spare tire mount will fit a 2022 vehicle?

I backed into something and one of the arms has a hairline crack on it and the dealer has ordered a new one, but they have no idea when this will be in. I was advised by the body shop not to hang the spare tire on the mount.

I will post a pic in a bit, but the hairline crack is .25 inch, and I am not sure if the Bodyshop is just protecting themselves or if I need to wait for a new one to come in. OR can I just order a 2020 mount I found online instead of waiting 60 days.

Thank you for the help.

With a few exceptions like new alternator, pretty much any part for the 2020 defender will fit the 2022.

The fitment in most of the websites for parts will say it doesn't but the rear door is the same on them all AFAIK. (soft close feature delete being the only change in MY23)

LR132173

Seems to be the part number on them all.

Do you think the hairline crack would be something to be concerned about?

Wouldn't concern me too much. Two other intact struts. A catastrophic failure is not on the cards. Disclaimer. I'm pretty dumb and would just roll with it.

I'd order a replacement myself and do the install when it got to me. No big rush or worry.

What's changed about the alternators from 2022 to 2020?

I don't know the specifics but the alternator in the MY22 is a newer model to the MY20

When mine self-fried after 1300 miles on the odometer the newer one made with Unobtanium alloy took 3 weeks to source. I was a less than happy camper.
