Very happy with Santorini Black. This the A-frame protection and Extended Wheel Arches really tie the room together.

Two comments:
  1. I think it was me that coined that phrase.
  2. I took a really challenging journey this morning to the local Starbucks and picked up my usual Venti Latte. It was hell pothole crawling with those 22” wheels I can tell you!

😳

@TheMoke - You are now a legend. LOVE the phrase. Gladly embrace it. Oh, BTW - on the way to the office this a.m. I ironically picked up a Grande Latte. I guess that makes me a bi-Defender or a Defender Switch. You need to come up with a new phrase! Proud Off-Road Houligan with a periodic itch for a Latte....

22s? I do concur that would be quite the latte spec, is there a pumpkin spice version of fix a flat for 50 stars?

Thank you for the feedback and thoughts, everyone!

We’ve submitted the order for a Hakuba P300 on steel wheels. Right now expected delivery is January.

Unsurprisingly, the only thing I requested that could not be included is the interactive drivers display.

Aside from that, she’s an intentionally-basic spec. Premium headlights, black headliner, off-road tires (figured I’d try them before going with K02), cold climate pack, clearsight. No air suspension, no e-diff (sorry Trio!!!) - excited with the thought of a new LR product that has far less complexity than anything I’ve had previously or today.

It is a blank canvas. My initial plans will be about as minor as it gets… will wrap the A pillars black and put on 30mm spacers.

It will join my wife’s ‘16 LR4 and our less functional sports cars.

Really? Had no idea. I find the configurator to be particularly good with the details (i.e. the heated steering wheel button when cold climate pack is selected), so assumed it would reflect reality in the other elements as well. If this is the case, I will be very pleasantly surprised!

To my knowledge the A pillars are normal black, but maybe the NAS specs for the 110 are always with the Signature Graphic Pack.
In Europe that's the way, especially for the 90.. Who would want that side plate blocking the rear side view ?

re: spec'ing a new 110. why is my stealership pushing me to a p400 and talking down p300's? vague references to reliability and the unsuitability of the smaller engine for mountain driving.

i've looked through this site for validation on either of those claims and not really found evidence beyond a few anectdotal comments. when i mentioned i really wanted 18" wheels the rep pivoted and said they would be happy to swap rear brakes, put in johnson rods and go with bigger rubber. i simply said i prefer skinny tires (265 or 255 since i don't do much sand) and i would think about it.

so, i'm wondering how many p300 owners have found their engine limits their on- or off-road adventures?

As a person active on the forum for quite a while now, there is no evidence in this forum that the P300 is anything but a surprisingly smooth, powerful engine, very well matched with its transmission. I have one and it is a joy. Off-road, the P300 torque curve is a wonder -- very, very flat -- which makes it wonderful to drive off-road.

The only universally agreed reasons to move to a P400 are either: one will be towing more than 4500 lbs (or so), or you just want more Vroom Vroom acceleration.

In the same positive vein, almost all who purchased a P400 are very happy with it, excepting some griping here and there that the fuel economy is less than they desire (about 1.5 to 2 mpg less than the P300, on average) -- but that is what happens with Vroom Vroom, of course. The foot presses down as it desires.

Basically, I think your dealer is out of line. Why? -- one can only speculate.
