Yes. I am just glad I bought mine when still possible for me. I could definitely NOT pay for the same specs today, which seems weird to me. Not kidding. Specing the same car today is $10k more expensive than back in 2020. A lot more than the $3k you mention, which IMO would be reasonable.

Car prices have gone bonkers. I jus leased a mid-spec Chevy Suburban for my COO. MSRP was 75K. For a Suburban.

I've had much the same experience. I ordered mine on March 22, got an early June build date, and an August 4 delivery date. I was just told by my dealer that the car will arrive on July 21.

I ordered a 110 S and added the low-level leather, trailer hitch (but not the towing pkg), electronic diff locker, cold weather pkg (I live in Michigan), and blue paint with white roof. I didn't want a sunroof, and am I ever glad I got in under the wire on that -- my understanding is that they all come with a pano/sunroof from MY24 on.

Regarding depreciation, whatever.... New cars depreciate. The last few years have been anomalous and I took advantage of it, trading a 2019 BMW X3 for within a few dollars of what I paid for it brand new on a 2022 X3 M40i. Right place, right time.

And yes, all the cars I'm interested in as basic family transportation are expensive AF.

I picked up a 2022 110 X Dynamic Se in Carpathian with 25K miles on Father's Day for $74.5. Cold weather package, 19" wheels with AT tires, tow package, and everything is blacked out. This thing is beautiful. I am pretty pleased with my deal as I could not afford a Defender this nice new from my dealer.

Default Really?

Enjoy your cars. The more you see
them as investment, the less enjoyment you will
get from them. Keep it running and
make it your own. It’s a very cool car and will always be special.

There is a lot to be learned from the Jeep crowd.

I just heard that the 110 I ordered for my wife will be at the dealership in 10 days.
It will be interesting to see what they offer us on trade for her 2021 low-spec base model 90 that we bought new off the lot for $60,000 MSRP when we couldn’t find a 110?
I’m planning on keeping the 90 as I need a daily driver vehicle, but if the trade value is high enough I’ll probably trade it.
FWIW the defender has been legions more reliable than her BMW or Audi.
We may wind up owning 2 Defenders and I find that kinda rad!

Yeah. Definitely keep us updated. It will be interesting to see how much they offer you. I would be surprised if more than $50k.

Here in the U.K. you can get a 2-seat "Commercial" version of the Defender 90 or 110

lt's a popular model because of the lower price, and it can be put through a business to save tax etc

However LR don't make so much money on these, so there's still over 12 months wait for one because they prioritise production of the more expensive saloon versions.

The upshot is, my 2022 90 "Commercial"
is still worth what l paid for it.

A '21 base 4C Defender 90 opens up at $43,800 on Manheim MMR (wholesale guide based on real auction sale results).
