i have run Race chip on my previous 3 BMw’s and TDi on my v8 defender. had no issues all cars. basic mod that just increases boost. i am really surprised i haven’t seen more p400 with it. it is very easy to increase power in turbo engines

Anyone here have any of these options they can weigh in on?

I agree that it’s easy to make more power on boosted engines.

I tried to look up racechip today, and they don’t have any offerings for the Defender…

Manhart Tuning has a plug and play they say created over 100 HP on the P400 - but it’s $2500!! 😬😬

interestingly, I was looking up TDI recently and theirs is $349 for the non-blue tooth one. Certainly has me thinking about one.https://tdi-tuning.com/en-us/car/lan...uning-box-chip

Bumping this. @Ehloo You still running your V8 with this tuner. Any additional thoughts or comments. Any issues? Thanks

still running mine and it has been performing without issues.

i would recommend unless you are running wanting more power with a pulley and full tune. once i get a little closer to warranty ending i will proceed with the pulley route

This motor has so much potential and character. I had it in my MY17 F-TYPE R it made 550hp and 502lbs stock. I understand JLR lowering the HP rating but it seems like they left a lot of torque on the table. We are looking forward to receiving our 110 V8 in May.

They offer a version for the V8 and a different version for the P525. Wonder what the difference is? I thought was the same, Land Rover site no help:

Reached out to them and got a fast response: “Thanks for your email. Yes, these are the same vehicles, however in some countries they have a different name, so we have included both names to make it easier to recognise depending on the vehicle location. You are fine to order either one as they are the same package and our technicians will program up the box for the US spec.

good service. I will order shortly.

Finally pulled the trigger on this unit and installed it on Thursday. Did not mess with it or change the setting until yesterday. On the factory setting of +4 I felt a bit of a difference but not a lot. Turned it all the way up on Friday and it is a noticeable difference. That said it is not that big to me but I think as @Ehloo mentioned it is starving for air on one end or the other. I believe that with a better intake it would make an even bigger difference and exhaust would do even more. Not complaining but just the unit on a bone stock defender isn’t anything grand. That said it is worth $600.
