Tell me why I should buy another one
We have a 24 Defender SE V8, purchased in October 23. I love this vehicle. It does everything well, great ride, acceleration, great exhaust note. Comfortable for long and short trips. If you have a dog, we have 2 German Shepards, this is the most dog friendly vehicle on the market. No carpet, so easy to clean up (no hair caught in rug). I would buy another without hesitation.
Defenders are tanks! and extremely safe trucks. I got rammed by a tractor trailer on the interstate and did not have a single scratch. I am very grateful to have been in A Defender and will always have one.
Wow! I've read all the replies posted after my first reply so thank you all so much for all the input and advice. These two last pictures speak volumes, and I am so glad your wife is safe and sound after such horrific experience. I hope the other driver is ok as well, regardless of who was at fault. That's crazy, 50mph T-bone crashes aren't historically survivable, let alone walking away with no injuries.
As for ditching the L460 for SVO well... No. I like it too much for what it is and I just took delivery of it in August 2025.
I do like my AMG GLS63 - it's problem free and I only had to replace rear rotors and do the regular recommended services. But I don't need two seven seaters so the Defender 110 caught my attention. After all the replies so far it's becoming an easy decision. I was told a September order should show up in April '26 even with all the cyber attack issues they've been dealing with.

Can't speak to the Defender V8 but I love my P400 6-cyl as a daily. After going through 8 vehicles in 8 years I am keeping the Defender until 2030 at least. Super smooth and plenty of power, especially after enabling Dynamic Mode with a GAP tool. Lowered the vehicle 0.6" as well so it's more nimble in the corners. Swapping out to Michelins also helped the overall sporty feel and comfort.
I have a V8 RS5 in the garage as my fun summer toy but honestly I found myself choosing the Defender even on perfect weather days. It is nearly as fast off the line. Test drive a P400 and see how it compares to the V8. You won't have the same sound as the V8 but an exhaust can fix that.
Cheers to whichever 110 powertrain you ultimately choose.

Thank you - and speaking about the P400, this video is pretty cool showing how they build it. It's kind of long but playing it at 1.5x or 1.75x works well. The video won't allow embedding so the link is in quotes for cut/paste.

Absolutely love this topic! Eight out of our last thirteen vehicles have been 8cyl. Even if usability/true performance isn't all that noticeable or by any means necessary for public roads, there is a deep visceral good feeling that some of us get from an 8cyl. The sounds alone are well worth it imo. Is it an ego thing? Absolutely 100% but also 100% worth it.
I currently have a 6cyl 110 and while it has no issue getting up and going, I long for the 8 no question. My wife drove it the other day and specifically commented on how 'zippy' it was - for context her current vehicle is an 8cyl L494 and previously an 8cyl L405. Regardless of how zippy it is, 8cyl in a Defender is a better choice imo.
Have to share this example - not stock/full Milltek exhaust but goot lord!
