The reasoning for not getting exactly what they needed for the channel just seems lazy....LR gives them a free exchange into a 10K higher priced model but they could not source them a p300 with offroad package anywhere else quickly?
Yep you remember, Tommy had the right idea here, you remember he was upset when they ended up with what they did. Dad wanted that lumbar. We know even from this recent vid, but then he should've ordered the 12 way seats from the get go. They really should've went for the P300 S like I did, go with the 12 way seats so Dad gets the lumbar support, go with the 18in steelies and add the offroad pack for the extra locker, the latter I didn't do but then I'm also not running TFL Offroad. . I know they want the 110 too, I think for added room so the dog has enough room etc, I get that, it's more practical which is fine but they need to bail on this one. I honestly think they should take their losses on this one and trade down for the right setup, it'll be much better for the channel going forward if they do. Right now they've kind of painted themselves into a corner with what they have. Maybe they wouldn't get hit with too much depreciation, the vehicles are in short supply plus the channel should have some clout. Order one exactly the way they want it to be is my opinion and make sure the winch is factory spec ordered too, I don't think they did that first go-round I had the suspicion they added it to the order late and then the dealer had to try to install it, which was botched, I wouldn't do that again unless it's a no-choice dealer installed item, I thought it would be a factory or at least port option. Add the bright pack on too so they have the recovery eyes on there, the dealer can do that if needed, my local dealer said they've done it on quite a few. Do it the right way for the channel because people want to see the Defender in the proper configuration. I also have my doubts about that dealer, they sent them away with low coolant too if you remember, seemed to me like it wasn't fully prepped by the dealer. I do like the channel though, they seem like good guys.

Tommy is definitely not a fan of the 20” wheels

Even if they stayed with 20" rims but switched to a better tire, then the results on that trail could have been different. I get that they test "from the factory" but, they did not get the best off road version of the defender from the factory. Granted, it still would have had the same tires (on smaller rims) - but maybe that would have made the difference. They didn't have a random Bronco - they had the best off road package / combination - so maybe not "fair" to say that they are simply comparing factory to factory. All that said, nothing will overcome the difference in articulation that solid axels give you. I'd rather see more focus / comparison / discussion on that vs something that can be readily addressed (such as tires & wheels).

Lol. Reality setting in. Bronco forums littered with roof problems. All the sudden, two irresponsibly blown tires sound like an upgrade.

If it had been available when I installed the OEM tray, I would have use the Lucky8 one.....
You can still use the wireless winch controller with their set up. They just didn't run one on theirs as they prefer the wired connection.

Not sure if any of you follow Casey Neistat on Instagram/Youtube but it looks like he just ran into a similar problem, popped a tire and his spare. You can view it now on his Instagram story.

Here’s another double-flat while off-roading (Elephant Hill, CanyonLands Utah). Both side-wall cuts on Wrangler Duratracs. So even “good” tires can get cut.
Skip to 5:45 for the start of Elephant Hill.

Wow he ordered his Defender in March and received it in May? Other than that great video, it's really a capable offroader stock
