Thermal windscreen not work
Hi everyone,
on my defender 90 d200 I have an optional thermal windscreen, unfortunately I think this does not work ....
I press the button on the console, it turns on but does not defrost anything.
but a curious thing happens, when I press the button, a short hiss is heard in the rear part of the vehicle, it seems to me the noise of a pneumatic actuator, I really don't understand what it can be, since the fuses are in the front compartment in the engine .
also when I press the key with the engine at idle I would expect a bending of the engine idle due to the current request, instead nothing .....
anyone have any ideas?

I have this on my Range Rover. It seems fairly unsatisfying when you first turn it on, but after a couple of minutes, all the snow kind of falls off at once. I think it’s speed of heating is rather like a steam engine, starts off slowly. This is most likely due to the windshield more likely to shatter if you tried heating it too quickly. I did have an experience to illustrate this on an aircraft. I was #2 after an F-14 on the #1 cat. We where in the general vicinity of Iceland, so it was bad a$$ cold. I had just come on line with powering up, which way down the checklist is windshield heat. The F-14 went to burner just prior to his being shot off and the leaking heat around and through the gaps in the Jet Blast Deflector caused my windscreen to literally explode, from the temp differential. It cracked so finely it looked like milk. That windscreen was nearly an inch thick (2.54 cm)!

I noticed buried in the vehicles general settings that there’s an on/off check box for the heated windscreen — and not sure if when unchecked it disables the heated functionality or not. But to be on the safe side, I have the check the box selected just in case. Not sure why LR added an on/off for it buried in the settings.
Hello everyone, and thanks for the clarification.
I also saw the on / off box in the settings, in my case it refers to the automatic selection with low temperatures of both the front and rear heated windshields.
