Default Thoughts on this? "Why Is Defender Such a Poor Choice for Adventure"

Just saw this
."Why Is Defender Such a Poor Choice for Adventure".

I can say that I've had the concern over battery after being stationary for several days in Panamint Valley (Death Valley) two summers ago. Obviously I opened & closed doors several times a day to get stuff out, and noticed a couple of times low battery warning - please start vehicle. Yeah, did that, and glad I did - his video suggested that an 'over battery discharge' won't even take a booster or jumper cables would restart a dead battery after a 3 day open/close door scenario.

I think I read something in this forum about the towing concern (or I read the manual ). That section is scary to say the least ((activate the transmission park release; in Neutral with engine switched off, the transmission automatically selects Park after 10 minutes; only tow with 4 wheels on the ground; do not tow for more than 30 miles and don't exceed 30mph. Each of these comes with that caveat "can cause serious damage to the transmission".

Now I think I've also seen some of the OBD/IIDTool work-arounds for some of the battery drain culprits that can be remediated. Is that correct? Can any of the two issues be addressed and resolved?

As a note, I would add my 3 day stationary issue was due to the fact that one of the guys had fallen on a rock and eventually determined he had broken several vertebrae in his back. He spent 3 days on the floor before we could talk him into allowing us to assist him to the car and get him out. He was definitely hurting - and the temp was over 110F and windy. Fortunately we were in a cabin & had plenty of water.

If you watch enough videos with this guy, you will see that he is a die hard fan of Toyota. He had in the past some sponsorships from Toyota as well.... I am not saying that the Defender is flawless, but listening to the guy, makes one thing it is just a glorified mall crawler ...
Could LR improve ? oh boy... big time. Is it as bad as described here ? not by far. All I can say, be prepared for the unexpected, and have some basic tools when leaving on an "expedition" - yes, even a laptop with the software.
I have yet to see some one repairing a Toyota on the side of the road with a simple tool box. My past experience with 3 Sequoias ( three ! ) was horrible - 2017 models, new ! All failed within 500 miles on the computer side. What exactly ? I don't know, because at the end of the day Toyota bought them back and refunded me. Not kidding.
Every car can have its problems, and most, nowadays can't be fixed on the filed as he may be suggesting.

Not unique to the Defender, realistically applicable to all the modern computer heavy vehicles out now. They all have issues. They almost all use very similar core microprocessors and distributed networked modules. They all need far too much electricity. Gone are the days when my battery died on my Series vehicles, where I could just unsnap the hand crank from behind the seat and start the engine with that.

Now that being said I have heard that RotoPax has a new container, tastefully in blue, that gives you 2.5 gallons of electrons to add back to your battery. Simply open the fill port on the battery and pour them in.
