Default Three Years +, Goodbye & Welcome

Hello All,

Been a while since I posted here, been busy exploring and baby making.

Since i was last here, we picked up the '21 D300 110 SE (Originally wanted the X-Dynamic SE but the model got dropped so I spec'd up an SE)

This is her pretty much standard at Kalbarri (Western Australia)

I did make some changes:
* Front runner roof rack (noisy without the wind guard after 80km)
* Powerful UK Side mirrors and door handle protection kits
* New rubber (Wrangler Duratrac - 255/60R20 - I rate them highly but also a bit noisier than stock)
* Redarc tow brake

Currently on the market with 49k on the clock

Summary:
I am sure if you are here, you have pretty much made up your mind if you should get one or not. I am over the eye rolling arguments around reliability and parts or which is best 300 LC or etc.
Personally? No issues. None. Zilch. Not even rattles, and Barbagallo (Dealer) in Perth are great.
Unfortunately, I have had to replace the windscreen 3 times, but that is cos of the road trains in the Pilbara.
Not saying there are things I didn't like (e,g Fuel range, lack of accessories, wait times for parts - OEM windscreen once took 3 months), But for what we used it for:
1. Long trips (see below)
2. Off-road camping while pulling a 1.4T camper trailer.
3. Occasional grocery shopping, etc.
You would be hard pressed to find something better. If you include its off-road + comfort credentials, then zero comparison to anything out there. Stock.

So why is it goodbye? Well... we need more space.

Still one of the best Tow vehicles out there.
Still one of the best Tow vehicles out there.

Currently working on some mods... but so far?
1. Extra space is great! it practically fits 3 adults in the back.
2. You feel the extra length and weight but not much. Still a nimble thing off-road and on sand.
3. Same hard wearing interior.
4. Get the sidesteps if you have little ones.

And as always... things I like not
* Really LR? No sunglasses holder for something that cost me an extra AUD$25K?
* Rear of passenger and driver door pockets are nets compared to the hard plastic in the 110. My boy has already made a hole in one.
* No 130 in Australia without a sun roof.
* No soft close rear door but parts now available.

I'm keeping this one long term and will let you know how she goes carting this around.

All in all?
Loving it!

Cheers,
Dan

Yes!!! I am a fellow Aussie L663 owner and I couldn’t agree more that it’s difficult to find a better alternative. Great crusier, great around town, great in the middle of f*****g nowhere and great towing. Oh and surprising reliable.
What do you mean that the 130 has door netting, not plastic?

So in AUS, can you buy one with a bulbar fitted like this from the dealer when new? I note you have one on both the new and old truck here

The accessories situation is strange here. You can’t choose any of those things like bull bars or mudflaps on the configurator, and you have to specifically ask the dealer for them. Down here, dealers are an absolute nightmare, so getting things like a bull bar fitted, and well, is difficult and expensive. OP correct me if you had a different experience.
We have been trying to get a winch+nudge bar (well it’s actually the winch mounting kit but it’s literally a nudge bar with a hole in it) on our 110X and we have been quoted $15000 AUD. That’s about 10000 US dollars. Obviously, we don’t want to pay that. I have been thinking about starting a thread for that one.

In the back of the D300 2021 this was a hard plastic pocket. Now net <img src=" class="post_inline_image" data-size="2000x1504" data-src="https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/landroverforums.com-vbulletin/2000x1504/p_20250306_120048_ce5152f5362622c3cac94916ff39b692ecf58671.jpg" loading="lazy" />

Yes. Dealer fitted when knew. If you add it to your vehicle cost new, the dealer adds it to the vehicle's warranty.
