Default Thule Cross Bars for 130

Needing to put some cross bars for surf/SUP boards this summer. Is there any reason why I can’t use the standard Thule set-up for a 110 on a 130? It looks like the combination of a 3040 fit kit, rapid podium kit and a wing bar evo.

Those with this set-up, any preference on 47”, 50” or 53” lengths? Photos of current installs would be super useful.

Thanks!

i have 50 inch bars on mine. Defender 90 but you can see how they look on the overhang.

Thanks for that. Do you think 50” is the sweet spot for utility and aesthetics? It looks to be back ordered in places right now so that’s why I was weighing the 47”.

i do think 50 is the right fit but a 47 would only be an inch and a half off each end. I don’t think it would look weird or really be any less functional. I feel like 53 would start to overhang too much for my taste.

I ordered mine through rack attack and it didn’t take that long for them to arrive. Maybe a week. With that said I know lots of eBay sellers had them in stock when I was looking a few weeks back. And they were a little cheaper there too.

For another cross rails data point, I ended up going with the 47” Thule bars. Should be plenty of length for the surf boards and SUP’s.

Does anyone know what the appropriate length would be to not have the bars go past the posts?

I only intend to ever mount my Thule Box on top and I dont care for the look when it extends.

What is the appropriate length to end up with this look (on a 130?)

Also to confirm, you used the Thule 3040 Fit kit?

Correct, 3040 kit with 47” bars. I think the next size down is 43” and that may be too narrow for the mounts (or exactly what you’re looking for) but I’m not certain.

Thanks I ended up just pulling the trigger on exactly what the US Thule site says. so 3040 and the 7602B bars. Will take a few weeks to arrive, however so I'll be back with quesitons come early/mid june if I have any.

Assuming the bars are the right size. I should be good to go. Thanks again for the confirmation/input.

Then just get the OEM cross bars. You don't need to buy a fit kit and they are easy to install or remove. And I'm pretty sure they are made by Thule. Buy online or ask your local dealer to match the online price of around $355.
