Default Tool kit ideas.

What kind of tools kits are people carrying? Types of tools and bags or kits or cases do people use?

10mm wrench is the most important tool I keep in both our Defenders and have had to use it multiple times to do a hard reset. Even my wife knows how to disconnect the negative battery terminal to get her power steering back.

Things I leave in my Defender:
- 10mm knipex mentioned by @PaulLR in the right rear door
- Tire air down/plug kit in the boot storage
- This folder thing with a set of ratchets, wrenches, & screwdrivers in the boot. Never used it, but they are my security blanket.
- GAP tool in the glove box

I'm scratching my head, but that's probably it for daily driving. Lots more when overlanding.

My kit is self-recovery focused: ****** strap, soft shackles, tree saver, sidewall patches, tire plug kit, air compressor, recovery boards, shovel, a jack, a jump pack, spare fuses, valve cores and the all important leatherman multi-tool. Also 3 days of energy bars, a water filter, blanket and first aid kit. Lastly, a garmin inreach for satellite communications.

I keep a 10mm, a 20-piece socket wrench, a multi-bit screwdriver with a 25-piece Torx bit set, as well as a DeWalt cordless drill, needle nose pliers, zip ties, and a few spare fuses. Everything fits in the DeWalt carrying bag and I keep it under the cargo floor.

@Norsk - Doah! Forgot about the jump pack. I have a lot of recovery gear added when overlanding/offroading.

+ an air compressor to air down or up your tire pressure especially if you do a lot of off roading. The factory OEM compressor is a nice add that fits neatly in the back of the Defender.

What air compressor do you use?
