Default Touch Up Paint

What is the best touch up paint kit and what type (brush or pen)? I see a lot of after market provides with OEM paint codes. Wondering if anyone has had a good experience.

I've inquired about this and Land rover has no touch up at this time available. The best I could find was to have a local auto body paint shop mix up a batch of the Pangea Green. Maybe you have had more luck!

Maybe santorini black is easier to find or maybe I'm too trusting of online marketing.

Are you getting a lot of stone chips? I was reading the manual yesterday and it says: "Regularly inspect the paintwork for damage. Any stone chips, fractures, or deep scratches in the paint or bodywork should be repaired promptly. Bare metal corrodes quickly and, if left untreated, can result in expensive repairs." I am getting a lot of stone chips--more than I can recall in previous vehicles. But if the vehicle is aluminum, why is the manual saying their could be corrosion occurring quickly?

I'm sorry to hear that. Frustrating on a new vehicle. I wouldn't say I'm getting a lot. I got a tiny chip on the door edge opening it against a wall when a gust of wind hit. Very minor but got my wheels turning on having some touch up paint around.

The surfaces are so flat, it could be related. I already have a chip in my windshield after only 800 miles. Again, it's tiny, down low, and could happen to any car at 1 mile or 100K. Just very sensitive during the first 10K or so.

Despite my best attempts to protect the car with side steps and parking safely, the rear door of a Ford Explorer opened by a 8 year old into the front passenger door of my Defender and gouged it. Put in a dent and removed the paint down to the metal. Had the dealership look at it since it was in for service the next day and they basically said no. Took it to my body shop and they want to paint the whole door. They did say if I could get the paint from JLR then they could probably fix it without painting the whole door. My car is Santorini Black which JLR uses on other models so I was able to get it from the dealership. Taking it in next week to see what they can do.

I have found the plastic and edges do get some chipping. Such as the door edge and the door handle other than that normal wear and tear from the tough rocky mountains, lots of stones flying around out here so par for the course. Actually I would say the Defender is tougher than my Audi SQ8, that car seems to get scratches at the drop of a hat, really disappointed by the paint or clear coat quality of the new Audi especially when compared to cars like Porsche and mercedes just not up to par.
