Default Traffic Sign Recognition

Is there anything that must be done to get the speed limit to display. I expect to see the current speed limit in the speedometer based on either the camera reading or navigation system. I have seen a limit show up for no more two miles of my driving ( out of over 600 miles driven). The rest of the time no limit is displayed. I can’t find any reason for this in the manual and my salesman couldn’t help either (he’s researching). Can anyone that is using this feature help me out?

Dunno... mine works after the first speed limit sign i pass... only works funny when i pass through an inactive school zone and it changes to "20mph" even though it isn't an active time of day.

Mine also works since day 1, nothing to setup. However, mine will randomly switch its display format between UK and US sign styles.

According to the N.A. manual, the default state is ON and cannot be disabled. It uses a camera imbedded in the rear view mirror, supplemented by mapping information. It warns that any stickers on the glass near the mirror may cause a problem. Says it will post a message in that case.

Also, doesn't like fog, rain, snow or driving into bright lights or being in an unmapped area -- does not give a warning for these.

Also, to be warned of driving too fast, under "driving aids", you need to access the "speed limit alert" menu IN 6 STEPS -- SETTINGS, VEHICLE, DRIVER ASSISTANCE, CRUISE, SPEED ASSISTANCE, SPEED LIMIT WARNING

It seems to work on my P300 S 110 2020.

Try and reset the Pivi Pro system, it usually fixes almost everything - for a while, anyway. With the car in park and engine idling, press and hold the system's power button for about 20 seconds, until the system resets. Release the button and wait a minute or so as the system restarts. Hopefully your speed limit signs will pop up after that, in the proper US format (resetting the system also fixed the Euro signs switcheroo for me.)

@umbertob Will I need to reconfigure anything once the system is reset?

No. At worst you may lose some sat radio presets (if you have sat radio.)

The reset seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks!
