Question Is the Trophy wrap PPF?

Hi folks,

My wife has become smitten with the 90 Trophy edition. She doesn’t like any of the stock Defender colors (she wants something bright), so she really likes the color. I figure I could aftermarket wrap with paint protectant film the same coverage for about $6k. But if the wrap on the Trophy is actually paint protectant (and not just a vanity wrap), it might be worth it. Does anyone have experience with scratches on the wrap of a Trophy edition?

Thanks in advance for answers. It’s my first post here, but I have been lurking and learning.

Mike

I can not answer the scratching question but I did spend a day driving the Defender Trophy 90 a couple of weeks ago. The truck is white. The wrap seems more substantial than a traditional vanity wrap. The area where the wrap ended and the paint was exposed, along the sides of the truck as an example, the wrap seemed fairly thick.

It's really cool looking -

Matt

Thanks Matt! Really helpful feedback! That's kind of what I was expecting.

Curious if anyone has removed the wrap and if it's a diy project or best left to a professional.

I've got a trophy edition and haven't noticed any scratches, but I'm not very picky about that. I figure if it starts looking really bad or starts peeling off, I'll just remove the wrap. Before I bought mine, I saw a youtube video where a dealer removed the wrap and it probably looked better in all white. I love the yellow but don't really like the "trophy" image.

Let me know if you have any specific questions. Here's a couple pics that I've posted in the Defenders in the wild thread.

Thanks for the reply! I just bought a very slightly used one online and was starting to have second thoughts about the wrap before I pick it up... But yours looks awesome in the snow!
What tires do you have there? Are they the OEMs?

They are the stock 19" Goodyear Adventures. We live where there's snow on the ground a good 6-7 months and have never had any problems with the tires but I've heard several folks criticize their all weather capabilities. We don't have issues with melting and re-freezing since it's normally well below freezing in those months so maybe our conditions are easier???

I'll likely go to 18's at some point due to the potential sidewall failure, but we did some decently tough trails this year with no issues.

I know we paid a solid premium for this model, but it came equipped with all the goodies we wanted. And we really liked the factory hidden winch.

Well I picked it up on Friday, trading in my P300 on coils. Got an incredible deal on this with only 3k miles. I'm loving the wrap for now and will keep it on.

At first, I was a nope. Then I saw one with those colors/that wrap in real life at the Destination Defender and really liked it. I think you'll like it and it's very unique. Good purchase!

Thanks! And I fully agree - really have to see it in person to appreciate it... Pictures don't do it justice.
