I agree and you make sense and I get where you're coming from...but I'm still not doing it. I'd rather feign ignorance or pay the ticket. More than those options though, I'd love an elegant solution.

Couldn’t bear to drill into the new bumper so installed the sly bracket. Took five minutes and came out fine. Very well made and worth $$ to me to avoid putting holes in an otherwise perfect bumper. This way if I move to a state with no plate requirement, I don’t have to spend all kinds of money repainting the bumper. I’d recommend this to anyone who would like to avoid drilling.

Does that affect the front camera's view at all?

Crap. It does show up in the camera view. Sorry, was dark when I checked. Will see if I can move it. Might not work after all.

Fixed it. Just moved it to the side. Doesn’t block the camera at all now, and no effect on the parking sensor. It’s also out a bit so it shouldn’t impact airflow to the radiator at all.
