Use side mounted gear carrier for water?!
I have been thinking about some sort of road shower and as I don't have the side mounted thing on my 110 it occured to me it might be a possibility.. any thoughts about the weight bearing and possible capacity? Or maybe use the frame connections for a custom build..
I have a tent on top so other option is something custom below the tent and inside is as full as it gets

I like the pump/compressor approach that pressurizes the water container.
Not sure yet which approach to take,
a. some container that would fit in the side gear carrier and would leave room for small hose and showerhead as well. Pros are the looks and hose part, con's is the side carrier extra cost (800~?)
b. custom aluminium weld using side carrier connection points to hold ~25L with quickconnects for in- and outlet + pressure connection.
Either way it seems I would need to order some extra side panels to cover the mounting holes for winter period when I have to remove the container, it gets quite cold over here

Maybe useful for someone stumbling on my mumbling..
I think the easiest and cheapest option is actually to get a rotopax side mount and rotopax water pack and add a battery powered pump to it - youtu.be/eN7Zk-1SVx8

Exactly what @Parukas just said. Here's the crazy thing about weight: you're carrying it because you are likely overlanding. That mass (I'm not good at physics) goes up in weight as the G-forces increase. When you are bumbling around off road (even on forest roads, etc) the vehicle is frequently doing jumping jacks that increase your weight. That's why most folks put fluids either on the roof rack where the weight is more distributed or on their towing hitch which can handle a few hundred pounds. The most I would put on a side plate would be a Rotopax which is about 2-3 gallons. Note: I had one of those carriers and I now am convinced it is the #1 noise amplification device. I don't mind road noise (I'm going deaf due to too many explosions in my youth), but THAT was tremendous. I removed them and will only add them on when I intentionally go Overlanding. Good luck!
EDIT: Thanks for that
(reproduced to make it easy). I accidentally hit forward and got a version of my personal hero at "Seek Adventure". For those interested, here's another (simpler, less powerful) version:
.

Interesting info about the noise. Good to know.
I planned to do the roof option but opted out as I don't like the physics of long half empty water tube when breaking or accelerating, it will slop around and some 100 pounds wheight when breaking from 100 to 0 will ten-fold its effect. Does not feel safe to me..
Maybe attaching it to the tire is the best way to go in the end. Theres the weight limit of course.

@VillaDazzler - Thanks for the update/Post. Great solution there. Also, liking your rig! I'm thinking a trailer may be in your future, though.

Lucky 8 do water (or fuel) carriers for the side:
