So a couple of bleh bits of news …

First my car has now been pushed back to a Nov 5th delivery and my guess is that even that is optimistic. Apparently they’re having big issues building these things.

Not only that but although my build hasn’t locked yet the system won’t accept my wheel change to gloss black without risking rescheduling … apparently they are on constraint.

Can’t decide if it’s worth the risk.

On a side note, my dealer tells me that he has now tried to build two other Carpathian Editions for other customers and the system won’t allow him to do it. This isn’t even an allocation thing, the system won’t even let dealers put placeholders builds in to show that they have a customers for it.

I have a similar experience on a standard V8 (not a CE). Order placed in mid April and the dealer cannot get a production slot with JLR more than 8 weeks later. I will be cancelling my order if it looks like it will slip to 2022 and taking my cash elsewhere.

My original “lock date” was 6/2 with a 7/2 build date. When I checked back with the dealer on 6/3 JLR had changed it to a 6/10 lock date with a 7/10 build date. When I contacted them 6/11 it still showed a lock date of 6/10 yet able to change the configuration. Assuming I still could change the configuration (wheels) I reached out 6/14 but it had actually locked 6/12 with a 7/12 build date. It has the 11.4 screen so I’m thinking that’s not the hold up. I had placed a $2k refundable deposit with order at the end of March. Hang in there, I highly doubt it will take until the end of 2022 to get even a CE as my dealer said they will likely build it BEFORE the sched build date of 7/12 (fingers crossed).

Maybe this will help you feel better about not getting black wheels. Skip to around 2:46

So Ive started reaching out to local dealers here to get my order in for a 110 Carpathain. One of them told me there are no available allocations available in the area for them. But he did try to sell me on a black-on-black 110 on the lot. Is he just trying to move his own metal on the ground or is it true about no allocations available? Im in the Northern Virginia area FYI.

@friskyamg - Yes and Yes. Everyone is having terrible problems with getting the 110's. Many Dealers are having problems just ordering them. And yes, Dealers always default to try to sell what's on their lot!<g>

Are the 110X trading well that you can order a V8?

I ordered the Defender 110 V8 Carpathian Edition on the first day orders opened. I originally had a lock date of 6/9/21 and a build date of 7/12/21. Checked in last week and the builds have moved out significantly with estimated arrival of 1/21/22!!

Does anyone have a confirmed 110 V8 Carpathian Edition earlier? I'm not looking for hopeful dates...but actual confirmed dates from your dealer. And if confirmed, you might re-check! Curious if there will be ANY in the US before end of year.

I can confirm. The dealer Im working with to get my Carpathain ordered says to expect them on the ground no earlier than late December! Ugh.
