Dynamic mode in the P400! Wouldn’t that make the vehicle so much more enjoyable around town!!??👍👍

I'd like to see an option for dynamic mode to automatically switch on when putting the transmission into sport

Combat Ninja - I think GrouseK is on to something with the 18" rims as standard. The new Lexus GX has 18" and the discontinued US sold Land Cruiser also - I think? - had 18" rims + a V8. If Toyota could do it, LR could. Maybe not enough room in the wheel arch? If LR needed 19" rims for brakes, couldn't they just raise the suspension a tad and then give you roughly the same sidewall as if you'd had 18" rims? It's not a smaller rim that is the goal, isn't it to have more of a sidewall as protection?

Yep, big mistake to not offer the option of 18s on all trims. You can always go up, but the brakes as fitted to the P400 makes it hard to go down.

You should not need to have to change to aftermarket calipers or grind stuff down to fit 18s to a Land Rover.

I was watching a TFL video the other day where they pitted a Range Rover Sport against a current gen GX, and not only did the Land Rover press office supply a vehicle with 20+ rims it was on snow tires. The RRS did fantastically well. Would have been even better on smaller wheels and fit-for-the-purpose tires! The LR press office is harming the brand doing this. I bet we're going to see a ton of new GX vs Defender off road videos, and I can just imagine the LR press office loaning a Defender with 22 inch wheels and a rubber band for a tire.

Lightbulb changes to Defender?

First, I'd suggest they add a few things to the dash: tire pressures on each and the battery % - est. life. (reduce size of rpm gauge for room?)
Second, Defender should have a strong and reinforced, solid roof option. Some folks do use the roof - only offering a glass roof is limiting.
Third - bump guards along the doors (rubber/plastic maybe?), and a small "dent ready" bumper to the front and rear. Ideally, a few inches or so bumper strong enough to rest a foot on as you drink your coffee and chat.
Fourth - space for a spare battery to kick in for emergency. It need not be huge - just something to make sure you're never stranded. I have heard that most cars today have "always on" electrical draw for their electronics, and car batteries can go dead if you let them sit too long (like at an airport while on vacation for 2-3 weeks). A back-up battery could be a fail safe to ensure this never happens to a Defender. Maybe add a "kill switch" that cuts battery use to everything that is not absolutely mandatory, thus persevering the battery while you're away.

What did you do here, fit rear seats into a D90 Commercial that fold flat?

lt looks awesome. Who did the work? Or did you do it yourself.
What parts were used. Obviously you removed the bulkhead but what are the seats you used?

I want remote start enabled from my key fob. Its a pain in the *** to whip out the phone just to start the car. Every car I've owned in the last 8 years or so has allowed for this on the key fob, but some how JLR can't figure out how to do it.

It should be very simple since the functionality is there, its likely that nothing is required to make it work other than software. For my BMW ya just had to click the lock button three times and it'd start. So, its not even like a hardware change (key fob) is necessary.

Secondly I'd love better keyless access functionality. The buttons on the door are hit or miss at best and you basically have to have the fob inches away from the door to work. Auto lock/unlock as you walk up/walkaway from the vehicle is also something that can easily be enabled with software but JLR figured defender owners dont want this (or the option for it) for some reason.

Lastly, soft close rear hatch/door would have been great. I do not know why they got rid of it, but I hate feeling like I have to slam the door everytime.

I would like to have been able to order the factory winch when submitting the build for our D90. We asked the dealer for a quote to install after the car arrived, but the cost for parts & labor came close to 10% of the vehicle cost, so we passed. I'm sure it would be a lot less costly if installed when built.

the issue with auto unlock by proximity comes up with camping. if the carry bag with your key fob goes by the door, it will unlock. sometimes at the campsite you want to leave unlocked for others you travel with, so any auto-locking feature is not good. I agree this seems like a software choice, and owners should be able to have that feature or not. I'd decline any auto lock/unlock feature for the reasons above, but I totally get it's normally OK. my LR has one button lock/unlock for all 4 doors, which was a program choice as I could have had the standard double click, but like the 1 click as I'm with others alot of the time. did you go for the wrist band access? that seems interesting, but again I'd want to make sure I didn't lock others out!
