What Type of Awning for your Defender

Bush Company 270 Awning is another solid option
I have the 270 Bush Company Awning (AUS made - Here's the US link for NA distribution) on the list for this year (2023 - having taken delivery of the 110x Sep 2022). In conversations with the AUS original designer at the Overland Expo in CO last year, its worth noting their largest model (the MK2 Max) won't fit the LRD - but that is something I'm triple checking this year before pulling the trigger. Side panels are also an option.
for more info.
There was another thread in this forum where the awning subject was discussed - can't recall the link - sorry - worth looking for as sever other solid options were also presented. All worth considering. For example, for our needs/use we loved our older FoxWing 270 awning on our ToyFJ rig for +6 yr - but a new rig brings new opportunities to improve on our needs/wants Biggest issue for me was I wanted something free standing and engineered to handle typical Colorado weather.
The Bush Company will be an upgrade for us as its frame is vastly stronger, not requiring poles for normal use - sadly $'s also more but c'est la vie. With our Kimberley Karavan trailer I'm thinking we won't need additional side panel coverage, but side panels for the Bush CO Awning are always an option to add at any time. I'm looking forward to not having to tent camp but loved our setup and would do it another few years if that's the way our travels take us.
Ah - the beauty of choices! Hurray for retirement. Hope the above helps
EDIT: Here's a link to the awning sidewalls. Couldn't find them on the US distributor site so it's an AUS link but still tells the story
