Default Windshield Replacement Cost

I’m going to go sell my 2022 Trophy Edition this week and this morning a rock just gotta hit my windshield. Now I have a big crack and I wanted to know the average priced to replacing it at the dealership?

$50 deductible with Safelite. OEM glass, faster service, and a little over half the cost of what the dealer wanted which was north of $2000

No problems. No camera calibration needed unless you get an error message. Took about 6 weeks to get the glass.

I just had mine done a few weeks back here in Colorado

Ball park costs for the heated windshield was $1700 (Land Rover original glass) and there was another $1800 charge to remove and reinstall the raised air intake (req'd to do the windshield). Net cost to me was zero for all the work as we have State Farm unlimited glass coverage added to our vehicle insurance for about $35/year. That covered both the glass and labour, and raised air intake labour (albeit I had to pay for the raised air intake work then got reimbursed 100% by State Farm - weird but c'est la vie). My wait time was around 6 weeks to get the glass.

Hope that helps. Cheers ~ huc

Getting mine replaced in a couple of weeks. Full glass coverage so no cost but Safelite handles glass replacement for my insurer (Amica) and can’t get it together to get the work order to Land Rover Denver. I am prepaying and getting reimbursed. 2020 Defender HSE and total cost including install is $2,111.

Not a fan of Safelite after the experience thus far.

I sold it today for 62500 without fixing the windshield. Land Rover wanted 59000.

Mine cost $500 for factory glass, and it was done in two days. Safelite did the job perfectly

I started a replacement with Safelite on July 17. After 4 failed attempts, I'm just going to the dealership. Safelite wanted me to try them for a 5th time. I already felt like an idiot falling for them for 4 attempts.
The first fail was them telling me the day of replacement that they did not have the windshield. Attempt two was a no show by their installer. Attempt 3 was another no show, but the local rep indicated the windshield was damaged. Attempt 4 was them again claiming the windshield arrived damaged.
The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

ETA: dealership is charging $1,900. I have full coverage on my windshield with my insurance company.

I had to replace the two windshields in my 2021 at a cost of more than $1500 each, so when I picked up our 23.5 on 8/24/23, the next day I took it in for windshield protection film. Drove from New Orleans to Chicago to Green Bay this week and the film worked like a charm. We heard several rocks hit the windshield but really couldn't see any damage with all the bugs etc. Washed it this morning and found two dings in the film, one near the passenger side A pillar and another near the roof line, centered between the sensors and passengers side pillar. The film has a nicks that are slightly raised where the rocks hit (kind of like a splinter). No dents or dings in the center of the windshield. In my 21, I would get a small star chip when a rock hit the center of the windshield, but if the impact the occurred near the A pillar or roofline, instead of a chip, I got an immediate hairline crack that just kept spreading through the windshield. The film (Madico ClearPlex) was $600 installed, it's a lot, but so far it seems to be doing it's job.

I'll give an update when I get it back to New Orleans.
