I've had three Wranglers in my lifetime and they have super flat vertical windows as we know, I had plenty of stones and chips in the windows but never a cracked window.

Wow that's crazy. Is that the heated windshield, standard or both?

Wranglers are old school. Windshield in a rubber gasket hanging in a metal frame. Non-stressed, heavy. Newer vehicle designs have to comply with emissions and safety regs (worldwide, not just US - for all those already pulling their soapboxes out from under the bed) so windshields are becoming thinner (=lighter) and glued into the body which essentially makes them stressed members. Essentially sound vehicle design principles except that chips now propagate more easily. I went for nearly 30 years w/o having anything but the occasional stone chip to replacing a windshield in one of my vehicles every 2-3 years at the latest. PITA. Fact of life these days. Not a strictly LR thing.

Thank goodness for unlimited glass coverage is all I can say

Now - I need to get the LR110 windshield done (actually should have a few months back) due to a full height crack and a stone shot driver side dead center. In fact was off to deal w/that very issue today

Windshields - meh - a fact of life I guess, particularly here in CO and on these style vehicles in general. All I know is our $33/yr for unlimited glass coverage has been worth the $'s for a very long time.
When you say "u$33/year for unlimited glass coverage", you mean unlimited repairs (Safelite, etc) or unlimited replacements without having to pay your deductible? I have the former, but would love to have the latter.

I'm referring to a new windshield / full replacement -- and/or repairs if that's what's desired for minor issues such as stone blast marks. The $33 is a one time payment yearly, not per incident. I found it odd they used to query me every time when requesting a replacement if the damage was in the drivers direct field of view. Those inquiries haven't happened in the past year or so. I always found it a weird question. If I turn my head or shift my eye view and see the damage then it's in my direct view. Never had an issue getting a full replacement - and in fairness I never tried to scam the system... but again material cracks are always in my direct field of view as a driver depending on where I look.

Hope that makes sense. Bottom line $33/year, no limit on # of repairs or replacements. Best value to $ insurance tweak we had added to all the vehicles.

There are eight different windshields availabe for the new Defender. It's possible one (or perhaps two) variants may be backordered but certainly not all eight.

Here are the eight windshield variants with part numbers.

windshield w/o solar attenuation, w/o heat, w/o heads up (LR162754)
windshield w/o solar attenuation, w/o heat, w/heads up (LR154744)
windshield w/o solar attenuation, w/heat, w/o heads up (LR162755)
windshield w/o solar attenuation, w/heat, w/heads up (LR154745)
windshield w/solar attenuation, w/o heat, w/o heads up (LR154740)
windshield w/solar attenuation, w/o heat, w/heads up (LR162758)
windshield w/solar attenuation, w/heat, w/o heads up (LR164079)
windshield w/solar attenuation, w/heat, w/heads up (LR162759)

You mentioned your windshield is heated but didn't mention having solar attenuation or heads up display. If this is the case, your windshield is part number LR162755 and it's available an in stock at dozens of dealerships. Just Google "LR154745".

Here are just a few dealers showing your windshield in-stock:

Land Rover of Huntsville AL $1,025.93
Land Rover Lake Bluff IL $1,052.23
Land Rover Raleigh NC $1,113.61
Land Rover Virginia Beach $1,139.92
Land Rover Cary NC $1,245.14

I hope this helps.
