$300 per ticket? Why is this event so expensive? Also can enthusiasts not interested in participating in the cookoff still attend for the sake of offroading, making friends and enjoy the lot of Rovers?

$300 may seem steep but:
- You only need 1 ticket per vehicle. It pretty much includes it all.
- The amount of swag and free stuff is great.
- Includes campgrounds and amenities and off roading in cool places (including custom made off road courses to get a feel of what your vehicle can do)
- We probably drank that much if not more between two people (that's mostly this guy's fault 13th Street Cocktails).
The $300 is definitely worth it in my opinion, having been before.
As the organizers say, food is a big part of the gathering, but if you really really don't want to participate in the challenge (which is only one evening) I think that's OK, but you'd be missing out.
Another thing to point out is that you do need to be self sufficient (so bring your own food). If you can't cook at all and don't want to live off trail mix the whole time, it might not be the event for you.
Got a chance to upload some photos/quick clips of the event. Lots of fun and no rain!
The off roading was definitely the hardest I've ever done. The worst part I have no videos or pictures of because it was pretty intense. A series of steep rock "steps" on mud. I barely made it up with guidance and some folks weren't able to get up. Also got a slight dent in my gas tank shroud. It was worth it though, got to see the Dorset Marble Quarry caves which were pretty cool.
