Hi all just a heads up, Pines are dry this week witch doesn't mean it will stay that way regardless of rainfall. And there are lots of new closures, Quarter Mile, Aplle Pie Hill, Lower Forge and Hawkins Bridge camp site are off limits now. Fire tower is no vehicles territory also.

 

thanks for the heads up, we heard of some of the closures last time we went they are trying to let the native plants regrow. we saw the road up to the fire tower is closed but you can still pull up near it and take that 30yd walk up to it. i thought with all the rain we had in ny the past few days it would have gotten wet down there, but like you said it can switch at a drop of a dime down there.

When Jake and I went a few weeks ago they had a lot of signs posted on the closed areas.

So where are we meeting?

 

meeting at Bastso Ranger Station

On the weekends there is a $5 charge to park at that ranger station. Maybe if you tell them we are just meeting up or getting camping permits they will wave the five dollars but not sure.

 

Worst comes to worst, we will meet on the road outside of the parking lot, lol
