There are some great trails in parry sound. I know it’s a few hours from you. They are on crown land, mostly service roads for the high tension power lines. Mix of mud and rock, a few water crossings. Great place to camp by the clay lake. I haven’t been there in a few years now, since i was a jeeper. If I plan a trip this summer I’ll post it up.

Here in BC most of the offroaders use these to find likely spots:

Ontario Backroad Mapbooks

But as Fastercat noted you will likely have to drive a bit, I am an hour our of downtown Vancouver. For anything more than and hour or so of driving, offroad, I need to go at least 20 minutes, up to a hour down the road.

Thanks for the tips. It's kinda discouraging that we have to drive a few hours for some trails I guess that's why most make it a 3 day event Kinda sucks
the local lr club guys go for a week sometimes. But I can't get away for that long

Yup time is an issue, I plan my trips a month or more in advance. My work lets me work a few extra hours a day so I can take a Friday or Monday. Then I load up the night before and head off early.

A 3 day trip is pretty nice and I like to go sort of off season when it is quiet.

I've had some nice off-road experiences on Manitoulin!
