I have a sticker fetish... You aren't staying for a beer at least?

I finally made it.

I broke down around Staunton VA. The main belt tensioner failed, spectacularly. It did however hold on long enough at about a 30 degree angle to cut all the way through the timing cover. The belt kicked the thermostat housings butt and something chewed up the auxiliary belt as well. Broke out the chair Fire tab and relaxed watching the Grand Tour while I waited for the tow truck..

So I was towed to Land Rover Alternative (British Precision) over in Charolettsville VA. 6 hours later and a customer directed JB Weld session. Saw me back on the road with new belts, tensioner and thermostat housing. He did great work so if you ever break down in the area there you go.

I finally made it to Romp at 2pm-ish today. Exhausted but damn glad to be here.

It happens, in the grand scheme of things it's a minor detail. Still going to be eating at Big G's this morning. Had a great dinner last night with about 20 other Rover folks and a fun night with drinks and stories.

Two things to always keep in your LR. AAA card and a folding chair for the wait, lol. Fingers crossed today will be better.

I was at the hotel from about 2:20pm till 3pm or so, 1st thing I looked for was the sticky fetish mobile, never saw it.......I was out back meeting up with Aaron and his LR3........Nope no beer, had to come back to take a leak, you're just down the road. Even brought the Super Model Crack Head down.......didn't have brakes, but I still drove it.

Oh, and 19 degree's isn't cold.......it was a nice day today!!

Also.....always park in a dry spot, you'll probably end up working on it.....
Have snow close at hand, wiper juicer probably doesn't work....
(mine did, but fellow LR owners picked up on why I was tossing snow pretty quickly)

Today was a great day. Minor issue with a seized rear caliper slider. Worked out a plan to fix that up, with only a slight detour.

Sorry I missed you, we are all heading to mainly brews for dinner in a bit.

I have roadside that is pretty good through my insurance. So GEICO paid for the tow. The chair and some good to shows is a must though.

Any pictures from the event? What were snow conditions like?

Brian.
