Default suede headliner in the rover

the headliner in the rover was ****. dirty, sagging, torn, you name it. couldnt sit in the backseat without holding it up with your head so i put an end to that. took me two full days of work but it turned out well.

recovered it in foam-backed black suede, including the pillars. this is my first time tackling one of these and it is time consuming and requires a lot of patience. there are a few imperfections here and there, but still a hell of a lot better than was in there before.

the pillars were nasty, they had a spray-on velour fabric that had to be scrapped off before they could be recovered:

also adding an attention to detail, i also wrapped the seat belt adjustment inserts:

when using sharp knives, and scissors, always watch your fingers:

pillars wrapped and test fitted:

headliner install -- this was the hardest part. first, just getting it back into the vehicle. second, the very time consuming process of final trim adjustments and refitting all the accessories and weather stripping, this took almost a day by itself.

Nice. I bet the pics don't do the suede justice, but it still looks good. And it looks like that was quite a job to tackle.

yeah it looks amazing in person. it def. wasn't easy, it took a lot of patience to get it done. there are a couple areas where i could have done better, but overall for this being my first headliner, i'm impressed with it.

Very nice! How much did you end up spending on materials, and where did you buy from?

got the material from automotiveinteriors.com -- only ran me about $60, plus the glue and other tools and i came in at about $80.

dirt cheap if you ask me. its been in for almost 3 full weeks now and is holding up very well and still looks excellent. gets a lot of complements!!
