I just picked up a 1996 Discovery Se7 , it was broken into before i go it and they demolished the center dash where the stereo goesthe bracket where the screws go in the middle is broken off and the part of the dash just hangs. I cant find a replacement for it on Ebay, Anyone know where i can find one? also i want to add a aftermarket cd player, and im having trouble finding the install kit for it and the wire harnes any help would be awesome!.

And is all I will need to hook up a aftermarket cd play aside from the install kit is a cable harness? I found a Metra 70-1786 harness is this what I need?

 

don't need a dash kit, they don't actually make one for our trucks, they do make a universal trim piece that can help flush it up but most people just install it as is. yes the 70-1786 harness is right and a european antenna adapter (non amplified, standard VW).

as for the dash I am not sure I can help but my suggestion would be to repair the old one, bondo, fiberglass resin, epoxy, ABS plastic. I can give some pointers as I have a decent amount of fabrication experience. maybe if your willing to put in the effort and money you can even modify the factory piece to adapt a double din unit! well it was just an idea. anyways maybe a picture to see how bad it is 5then maybe I can give some better advice.
