CB radio suggestions?
I purchased a Cobra handheld Roadtrip CB a year or so ago and a magnetic base antenna and overall was not impressed with the reception. So I recently went to a 4 ft Firestick mounted on my tire carrier and did not see much of an improvement. Then I noticed lots of reviews of the Cobra model I have and most seemed displeased and said the reception was pretty bad.
So I am thinking of getting a better radio. I mainly use CB when I am out and about on the open road and especially when I go on outings with other members of my local LR club. We use the CB to stay in touch and it's not much good if you can't communicate with another vehicle 1/2 a mile away.
Any suggestions for an improved hand held radio? I would prefer to stick with that type as my front dash is already so crowded. I've noticed the Midland 75-822 gets pretty high marks.
