Default Do you use a 110 plug in for adding air to tires?

With my 20 inch Defender wheels I am not going to be airing down much if at all.
Don't think buying the add on air compressor is a good place to put money.
I can plug an air compressor into the vehicle right? For bicycles too...
Do you do that?
Have no idea - is that a battery strain beyond a built in LR compressor?
If I ever did air down, let's say as low as 25 psi, am I wrong in thinking I can go back on road for 50-100 miles until I find a gas station with air? Both psi and miles on road exaggerated for sake of discussion.

What is the big need for onboard re-inflation?
