Default Navigation Question

Does anyone know here what it would cost to replace a 2001 RR navigation system? Thanks!

Default RE: Navigation Question

not sure but let me give you a quote for a 2005: $2200 from the dealer. I looked at after market and its about the same for a Kenwood one. When you look at after market, consider the fact that you will lose some abilities that are tied to it.

I would look at getting a TomTom 720 as a replacement. I am actually looking at one with built in Bluetooth, FM Modulator and XM radio. The plan is to get it wired into the area where you would normally store you sunglasses. Right now, that is where I have a Sirius satellite radio. when not in used, it is covered from view.

I really think that this whole navigation in dash for vehicles really needs to get updated (unfortunately way too much money for the manufacture to even consider) the lcd screen should have a input type where you can basically fit any type of navigation you want. When you think about the fact that a touchscreen lcd is really like a pc monitor with a built in mouse, then the technology to built for it should be easy. It's hard to dish out even 500 dollars for the manufacture's navigation replacement when you can buy a gps mobil one for that much. Add the DVD/CD to update and its a big ripoff.
