Default Switch Illumination doesn't work - Hellas wired using Stock D1 Switches.

I have two sets of hellas wired up on my roof rack. Both are wired in the manner seen in the picture below using stock D1 Switches. Lights work, and the orange "on" indicator light works when the lights are switched on. However, I cannot seem to get the switch illumination to work. I tapped in to an adjacent switch from the number 2 pin to the number 2 pin on the D1 switch, nada. I wired to a switched power and a constant power just to see if the light would come on...nada. Also used multiple switches to eliminate the possibility of blown bulbs. Anyone see what might be wrong in the diagram below.

Pins 1/4/5 should be sufficient for powering the light; I think you need power to pin 2 to get it to illuminate.

Looking at both diagrams, the only difference is that pin 2 isn't used. In the second diagram he's using windshield wiper switches that aren't illuminated.

Let me dig some more...

Edit: Actually read your post again. What's your power source for pin 2?

I tapped into an adjacent switch pin 2, no light. Then ran a temporary wire long enough to touch it directly to one of the pins on the small fuse block I added, still nothing.

I just got out my multimeter to check and make sure I was getting power to pin 2 on the switches. And I am getting power to both. Turns out every switch except one have blown bulbs. What are the chances considering all of the switches I have came from several different D1's in pull-a-part yards. Problem solved. I little more due diligence on my part could have save a thread!

Hahaha, that's awesome. Glad you got it sorted! You just use the good switch, or did you replace the bulbs?

I used the good switch and checked all of the other switches I have and none of them had a good green bulb. So I'll grab a few more switches next time I'm at pullapart.
