Default Use Factory Fog Light Switch for Hellas?

I bought some Hella 500FF's and I want to wire them up. They came with the relay and rocker switch, but I'd prefer to use the vertical blank in the lower right panel next to the current fog light switch to install an identical Rover OEM switch for the Hellas instead of using the Hella provided generic rocker switch. I prefer the factory look, but don't know if it will work with the Hella relay? Obviously it would be smart to use the pigtail and clip for the OEM Fog Light Switch, and maybe all I need to do is use an identical Rover fog light relay as well.

Anybody?

This has been covered before.. Using DVM pin out the connector on your fog switch, figure out which pins supply power.

your Hella relay will work just fine.. (actually just a standard Bosch relay)

Supply power from the battery to terminal # 30 on your relay
Ground the relay to the frame from Terminal #85
Connect your hellas to terminal #87
power coming from your factory fog switch will connect to terminal #86

Yup. For the switch, tie in the dimmer lights from the switch next to it and get power somewhere else. You will probably want to run them with your brights and the factory fogs turn off when the brights are on.

You can go the easy route and wire the relay to be switched with the brights.... I did a set like that.

Thanks for the help, guys. I tried a search, but couldn't seems to find the answer to my specific question. Not sure exactly how I will wire them yet, but with the brights makes sense.

Wire em up any way your find is best for your needs... I used factory switches for the rack lights and (as you may do) tied my bumper mounted driving beams to the high beam switch. As you said a much cleaner look....
But whatever you do, DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT NOT USING THAT RELAY. The draw from a pair of 55w lamps will quickly fry the switch if you direct wire it without the relay.

Wow, that's great. No, I got mine online for $49.00 a pair plus shipping. I'm sure mine are better though cause I paid more.

Now excuse me while I go to Walmart.....

dang, sorry. I was browsing the clearance aisle and saw them. Some kid "manager" asked me what I would pay for them. I told him $40 for both sets. Checked out right there. I saw them at 2 other wal-marts after that, but not that cheap and the wife said I could only have 3..(one on the truck already)

Wow, where are you? After seeing your post I stopped by my local Walmart on the way home tonight and those Hellas are still full price. Bummer.

He probably used intimidation as a factor.
