This forum is far from nice, and I'd think other members would want to keep "hazing" down as it ruins reputations and also deters advertisers. If you are an advertiser on a forum like this, are you not reading messages to see how your customers are being treated?

One obvious job of moderators are meant to quell the trolls from taking control and bashing new members, in addition they should also keep topics ON TOPIC. Shifty should have had his message removed immediately as it served no purpose.

Who's the forum owner? Anyone else in the forum think bashing new members is acceptable?

 

 

honestly if you had not come right out of the gate with the arigant look at me i got $200k to blow attitude, then taking a harmless joke and blowing up, just to turn around and continue to rub the forums collective noses in your "collection" that you paid someone to build you would not have gotten the response you did

i for one have worked very hard my entire life to have what i have and build what i can myself so i can afford it, so flaunting overly expensive toys gets no points with me and i have a feeling the majority of our membership would agree

we here have no problem helping new members that need diy help, but when new guys get cocky the other members give it backor just ignore them

seems you just want guys to be your buddie and tolerate your attitude cause you got money, sorry it does not work that way

i seriously want to see you post the same exact title and thread on defender source, disco web or even pirate4x4 to see how they react just curious since i belong to alot of rover sites and this by far seems the most tolerant

 

You were doing a poor job at moderating when you didn't take action on Shifty from the start, and now you want to blame me for not taking the first post from your forum in jest? Really take a look at other moderators, you want to prevent Trolls and Bullys from posting BS NON helpful responses.. that's your job. It does not matter if he's the big kid on the school yard, you still need to tell him to shut up.

Regarding the 200k, it was no boast I was honestly looking for help. And the average price of built up 110's from ECD is $120 on up.

I'm just amazed that you guys don't see the problem with bullying new members, and belittling them. Don't you want to have a image on the web as being helpful to all new forum members?

Don't your advertisers want you to have new users that are happy to read what forum posts have? Why allow even a post to go on and on about something like this? Does it serve a purpose?

 

unfortunatly just like in real life alot is tolerated as freedom of speach, if we were to go and censor everything not pc or not nice that everyone said i doubt there would be many members, btw i do not get paid to moderate i was asked and do it on my time, this is a free open forum people are free to read, join, post or not

i think most of all it comes down to how you came across with the title and first post, had you simply put" looking to do a 110 build " and followed with a post like this is what i have for a vehicle and this is what i would like it to be able to do , i have a decent budget does anyone have some suggestions what i should have addressed....

instead you put look at me i got lots of money to blow screwing up a somewhat rare vehicle (in usa) and i do it cause i can, btw i cant take a joke and look at my other expensive toys, im rich so that means everyone should be nice to me

i am not trying to argue with you i am just trying to explain what i interperate from what you posted, the fact that you cannot step back and see that just proves my point, you have money so that makes it alright ( in your mind) to rub peoples noses in your success

i would personaly take 100+ members that need help fixing their rover cause they genuinly need help over one rich guy that just wants attention

 

You are correct this post no longer serves a purpose, so the thread is closed.

Also if Tom was doing it by the book or I was seeing this mess of a thread. Both, you and Shift would get a week vacation from the forum, name calling is against the rules and you both violated it.

Remember moderators are volunteers that put in a lot of time cleaning up spam and threads that get out of hand. We do this to help a forum that helps us, and to enjoy time with like minded folks.
