Default Update: Things going in!

TF lift kit (2") is in, new TF steer rods, damper, and new front drive shaft completed. Ill have more pics soon but here is one showing the lift.

Im now thinking I need to replace all the ball joints in the front as they are showing signs of wear... I bought the vehicle because of the pristine body and interior (which I loved) but it was a truck from the north and the under carriage shows signs of it. No clanking or issues with movement as of yet but I do have some squeaking and the boots look like they have broke down. Id love some opinions based of the pics Im uploading.... The previous owner had replaced the driver side CV axle and it seems they either forgot to tighten the ball joint nuts back up or they were in such bad shape, they said the heck with it....

TIA for advice!

Chad

Default Continuation.... and the tires are finally on

A few pics of the new rubber! I'm stoked how well they look. I flipped the rear tire carrier over per some suggestions (wire wheeled it and painted it) and it "barely" clears! Build is going great! Headed to the shop today to get the Front main seal replaced as well as all 4 front ball joints!

Not getting the last set of pictures, but it's a good thing you replaced those ball joints...wow...in 40 years of being a mechanic...l've never seen nuts that loose.

Your lift looks great, keep up the great work. Nice to see another rover destined for the scrap yard saved.

Default It's a beautiful site!

Got the ball joints replaced, a new front main seal, and a fresh oil change! Man, does that feel good! And the rode quality increased ten fold!

On to the next upgrade! Been thinking about picking up an ultragauge for some real time time monitoring.... anyone out there recommend or not recommend this as an upgrade?

thanks in advance and enjoying the journey!

Actually yes! I just bought a new tactical rovers front bumper (on its way) and a standard Voyager roof rack (which should be getting installed today!) Glad you asked!

I'm looking for ideas or suggestions for 3" fog lights for the bumper and also suggestions regarding light sets for the top of the voyager rack! Start throwing them at me fellas!

Pictures coming soon!

Cool, glad you're still staying after it. Love those rims, any ideas for tires yet.

Your light question is truly subjective. Me, I like at least a five or six...seven, maybe...but eights look to large for my liking. Three inch lights seem to be the rage and throw a lot of light for what they are. I'm old school and still gravitate to bulb/lens type lights...LED just bug me. But again, that's just my preference.

Looking forward to seeing the upgrades.

I went with BFG A\T KOs for rubber... I really like them. I would have liked to go a little wider but was skeptical of clearance.

Thanks for the suggestions on light. I had tentatively planned on going with the Hella 700 series (2 flood on the edges, 2 pencil beams in the middle) so that is prob what I will do. I like the light output of LEDs but would rather keep the same color light through all the fronts so staying with halogens... Also I can change a lot of bulbs for the cost.

Really going to have to get serious about the dual battery setup now.... considering all the lights and accessories going in...

Also have a nice surprise while checking things out, see extra pic: :-)
