Photo Gallery
Well, until the photos I uploaded get approved, I'll start a gallery so you can see photos.

Holy hell. You really cleaned it up. I've got a rust free Lift gate if you want one.

Thanks. 3 12 minute sessions at the car wash and a lot of elbow grease. Currently only 1/3 of the way cleaning the inside.

And yes, I'll be looking for a rust free gate.

I've come across an aluminum DIY kit (ALUMINIUM LIFTGATE FRAME RANGE ROVER CLASSIC , PLH514, RTC4517 - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts) for the window. Anyone use this? Recommend it?

I don't see a price on that. That automatically scares me

That's a reasonable reaction when you are wheeling in Landy Land.

So I am learning...

Anyone ever fab up their own?

I'll have the second (rusted) window when I drop the other on. I am wondering if I was to attempt to remove all the metal frame, lay it out, flatten it out (odds are will crumple or break), but, might it be possible to create a template, and then cut your own pieces and DIY it?

Or you can just buy mine for 250. Lol. Your choice!

L8 has a very decent price on that kit (ALR4637) with glass > https://www.lucky8llc.com/collection...lgate-assembly

But for $250 for a clean used one.... SFP, don't pass that up.

Yeah... price is damn good.

I'm still working out initial priorities as well as budget (it's the GFs) - I'm just the guy doing research, work, and enjoying it.

Default Update - May 31, 2017

Have had some time to do more looking and poking around.

1. need to get new wipers all around. Any recommendations?

2. Loonie sized hole in floor (rust) just in front of drivers seat. Sure this means I'll find more. Ode to restoration and learning how to weld.

3. Getting a copy of the key. We only have the one key (no fab, not sure they even came with one back then?) so me being me, went to get a key cut at the local Wally World (Walmart) only to be told it has a chip in it. Do I need to go to my local Rover dealer to get another key?

4. No idea where to even begin to start on the lower dash and putting it back together.

5. Plan to take the front bush guard off. It's slightly bent as mentioned previously and has rust on the bottom end. Haven't decided what I am going to do with it yet. Right from turn light and lens need to be repaired/replaced.

6. Need to start researching swapping out grills and headlights - would like to use the extra stuff we have, but need to figure out what I am missing (bolts, screws, etc).

7. Interior restoration. Goal one - Windows must work reliably - have located new genuine parts for switches. Goal two - interior heat/defrost. It's Canada, and although it's summer now, you need heat and defrost working in the fall, winter and spring. Goal three - Figure out if A/C is working, if not what's the cost to get it working.

Will be uploading more shots to the Gallery hopefully by end of day.

For a semi- DD, what would you consider the MUST be done/working correctly things on a RRC?

By end of June I hope to have it into my mechanic for a few things (inspection, tune-up) and from there I can figure out what we do next on the project.
