Nice I went with 245/75/16 as I don't have a lift and they don't rub at all and 2. I like the narrower wheels more. But I love my falkens, they've gotten me through everything just fine
Apparently, they just came out with the Wildpeak 4 so I'm looking forward to it. Since I have a 2" lift I figured I'd go just a wee bit larger but still narrow
Got the new tires installed today. Falken Wildpeak A/T4W in 265/76R16. No rubbing that I could detect. Very quiet on the road but of course they're brand new. Time to install the CDL and the new center console I picked up off eBay....
Not a big update but, I added vents to the rear windows. She's still leaking a little bit when it rains and these should help her dry out more quickly. I wish I could garage her but we're undergoing construction and the garage is full of house parts and tools.
Once the construction is over (two weeks?) I'll be able to more effort into a few other projects I have for her. Anyone know how to fix key fobs? My "open" button on my fob decided to stop working...

Very nice. I need to pick up a set of those window guards for the dogs while camping. They have mesh on the inside right for bugs?
Key fob, is the button busted or just not functioning anymore? Pull it apart and see if the button on the board is still there/functioning. If so then you should be able to just order a new housing. If not then I don't know what to do as I have 1 disco with no working fobs and one with only 1...would love to be able to get some more. There was a british company that would send you a new fob and programmer to get it working but I believe they stopped doing it? haven't checked in a while.

Yes they do. Perfect for camping

The button just stopped functioning. It was working originally and then stopped. LTS thinks I may just need to open the shell and re-solder it. The "Lock" button still works fine
Today I should have been out in the woods for opening day of turkey season. The weather had other plans. We received over 2" of rain with gusts of wind up to 35 mph. Given that the area where we were going to be hunting requires a river crossing and a Flash Flood Warning was issued, we decided to cancel. So to make up for it, I went up to Orange County and picked up a Safari Gard front bumper from a guy on ExPo. Somehow I was able to Tetris it into the bed of my Colorado. I had two accidents happen right in front of me on the drive home and drove past another that was likely a fatal crash. Anyways, here's the bumper in the bed of my truck. It came with the skid plate too.
Welllll, over a year later and not much to report. I haven't much time for fun so I haven't spent much time working on Penny. Yesterday I did my first oil change. I used Rotella T515w-40. Whoever did the last oil change on this thing tightened the oil filter on so tight I almost couldn't remove it and I had to use a breaker bar to remove the drain plug! I also lubed the front two zerks on the GBR front driveshaft but couldn't get to the rear two, their just wasn't enough room to get the grease gun on. I bought a narrow head on Amazon which should be here later today. Hoping to install the front bumper, roof rack, and CDL in the near future. Oh, and I bought a Stahlbus drain valve to make future oil changes easier. I have had one on my Colorado for four years with zero issues.
