Hey all this will be a slow thread but I will keep regular updates going.

I don't have a big long list yet but here are some of my early goals in order.
Lift Kit install.
Replace front drive shaft.
Find and end that squeaking noise. (I think front drive shaft is the source) (I have the new one in living room ready for install.)
Fix Wifes broken jeep window motor.
Buy Tires 33" tires
Sell my tundra.
Replace brakes / install extended brake lines. (ordered pads)
Install CB radio w/ temporary antenna mount until rear bumper is built.
Fix the rear passenger door (will not unlock unless inside door handle is pulled)
Fix rear door (have to pull release handle multiple times before it opens).Investigate rear sunroof (jerky/studdering movement while opening and closing)
Pull step rails.
Pull front and rear bumper.
Build custom rear bumper.
Build custom front bumper with grill guard.
Build custom rock sliders.
Build Custom fender protectors and attach to grill guard and rock sliders.
Investigate idea to mount custom mirrors on the grill guard. (my thought is that when off roading can angle down to see tire placement.)
Mount winch.
Replace cracked tail lights with custom LED assemblies.
Replace fogged head lights with LED set.
Build Custom roof rack.
Install limb risers.
Mount Lights to roof rack.
Build custom 270* canopy and mount to roof rack.
Get body repainted (looking at maybe a thinned raptor coating). (see Shauno's FJ80 from 4wd 24/7)
Install snorkel.
Install a dual battery system and 12v electrical system.

Pretty substantial list of work to be completed. Good luck! I think the more time you spend behind the wheel off-road in the disco you will find the need for the mirror off the bumper to be not needed. Driver view and position is very friendly in the D2s, now remembering what you saw as you approach an obstacle is a different story lol.

Dll is pretty substantial off road. Between the CDL and traction control (and off road tires and mods)...she can be a beast.

 

Well guys shes a bit taller now. Used the terrifirma 3" plus (still need to install extended brake lines and sensor cables) but she can drive us to dinner now.

Thanks to the wife, youtube, and the right tools only took about 5 hours in the driveway.

Here's the updated photo if anyone else is doing the same work and needs anything I'll offer what I learned.

 

I am VERY interested in this mod! Would love to chat about what you plan to do (as I just installed a taillight sealed with superglue)

I'm also interested int eh other stuff too!

 

Ill let you know what I end up with. I'm looking at purchasing a "plug and play" model vs build my own. I think I would be happier making my own but that's also more work. So yeah Ill cross that bridge when I get to it.

 

It took some time being the last person rounded all of the driveshaft bolts, but its been swapped. I replaced all nuts and bolts with 3/8-24 x 1 1/2" grade 8 and nylock nuts. I may suggest something shorter none of them rub but they stick out about 1/4" past the nuts.

So yeah life happens and not much has happened on the overland build but I've made a few steps closer to my goal. (Pun intended sorry it's lame) See below or a few photos of the rock sliders, I was aiming for a simple and clean look. I plan to grind the welds smooth and coat them in rhino liner for traction when climbing in or out.
