Default Buyer Beware - I imported me a 110

Good afternoon.

I am the proud owner of a 1986 110 V8. I had it 'prepared' for me in the UK and have spent another six months fixing, tinkering and upgrading - more to follow.

One of the things that has come to light and is most upsetting is that after only 9 months I have rust bubbles on the rear doors (waist and bottom) I contacted my UK seller and he told me that I should not expect the paint, regardless of preparation, to last more than 9 months without rust coming through.

I am not an expert on paint so I am casting out for feedback and other experiences. If the car was properly prepared before painting should I expect it to last no more than 9 months?

Thanks all.

Yes if the truck was properly prepped and painted it should last way more than 9 months

I don't think it was, given how much rust I can see from the inside of the door. Just miffed that the seller blames the shop.

Hey ho, summer round the corner and time to do the job properly!

WTF, re: paint work that is the biggest load of B$ I've ever heard!!!

A 9 month paint job..... maybe if they sprayed it with a case of aerosol/rattle cans from Autozone.

Problem is what's the recourse? I don't think you are going to take them to a UK court, and the seller knows you won't.
I'm sorry for your trouble, it's just too bad this a live and learn situation.
