Progress got slowed down by cheap drill bits, one of these days I'll learn to stop skimping on tools.... Fixed it with a decent set from Milwaukee.

Got it stripped down to the base frame and all the old weld ground off with only one small fire.

Floor is 3/4" GC plywood, coated it in Behr deck sealant paint.

Sprayed down all the rusty bits underneath and tomorrow it will get a fresh coat of rustoluem gloss black

Bolted the old tailgate to the floor structure to extend the floor deck by 16 inches. That makes it 3.5' by 6.3' and the box will be around 43" tall.

Floor is all sealed now and ready to install. Bolts are done on the floor extension.

Not quite where I hoped to finish out the day but a lot of progress has happened.

Frame has a fresh coat of a Rustoleum gloss black.

7 bolts per side through the 3/4 plywood into the angle iron of the frame. Than standard framing studs. All sealed up in some Behr exterior paint to keep the rot away

Few days off from the project for travel to Texas for work. Than back at it.

It will give me time to plan out the electrical for the trailer.

About 200 lbs stock removed a bit of that weight. Thinking it will be around 500 all done ( with tent and awning). It is a 2000 lb capacity trailer. So should be good.

Trailer place in town sells the plastic sheeting they use on the exterior of the trainers they make so I'm going with that over plywood.
