It has good bones. That's all that matters. Congrats!

I only care about what is behind your truck on that trailer!! Please tell me more about that!

Looked at this rig for a while on craigs, even thought about pulling the trigger on it for a bit. Then saw you were looking at it and passed. Hope it works out for you.
Me, l would have named it "old whitey". Looking forward to following along. Brian. |

Going through new truck and figuring out what loose ends need fixing. Im fortunate to have access to a spare parts truck.

Not sure if this is a fluke but the negative cable grounding point is loose in the image that shows it above.

Snap some pictures of the frame when you get a chance. Just looking at the steering shaft in the last picture, looks rust free. Mind looks like it's spent the better part of its life with Charlie's Tuna.
All of those issues look pretty minor and easy fixes, especially since you have a spare rig. Good eye though, because these are minor issues that can turn into big ones if gone unchecked. Looking forward to seeing it's transformation. Brian. |
Its been a busy week and things are coming along gradually. I made some revisions. Swapped over the Tom Woods front drive shaft, alternator, airbox assembly & MAF sensor and fixed the ground to the battery. Next I swapped over all 5 wheels and tires, its a very tight fit but no rubbing as far as I can tell. Still need to replace the radiator and I want to flush the cooling system and run some distilled water for a cycle.
Also need a upfront o2 sensor and possibly an abs sensor for one of the front wheels. Im getting one of those gear ratio monitoring (4th) faults. The truck feels solid but when I hit speeds above 30 mph it feels like the transmission is not changing gears like it should, consequently the rpm meter gradually soars the longer you maintain pressure on the accelerator. Im going to do a fluid and filter change on the transmission to see if that smooths things out. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...73a6dbb640.jpg Swapped over the 235/85/16 BFG KO2's; stock suspension and no rubbing! https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...abf7c26429.jpg Swapped over the 235/85/16 BFG KO2's; stock suspension and no rubbing! https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...a64a69e4ba.jpg Swapped over the 235/85/16 BFG KO2's; stock suspension and no rubbing! https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...f628df0895.jpg Swapped over the 235/85/16 BFG KO2's; stock suspension and no rubbing! https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...f69ab631ba.jpg Swapped over the 235/85/16 BFG KO2's; stock suspension and no rubbing! https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...d5a3aa1d16.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...78c781cd88.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...fffd7c198c.jpg |
