Need a picture of the mounting surface of the lug nut. The bevel (mating area of rim) around the stud looks very small, more for a standard type lug nut. If your large lug nuts are not seating down correctly within that beveled area....you will have an issue with the rim not being centered on axle (and create a vibration...as you have found out). Especially, since they are not hub centric rims also (tight around hub centering lip). Personally, l do not like rims that are not hub centric...leaves all of the stress on hub studs...instead of rim/hub lip area.

You need to go back to the smaller lug nuts (that will mate with beveled taper correctly) and forget the plastic caps....for now...or risk ruining the rims future.

I believe you are in a tough spot now, after making changes to the rims (powdercoating them)...

Need wheel adaptors
 

If there are any sort of wheel adaptors available for Disco 2 that would enable me to safely use wolf steel wheels then thos is the direction I need to go.

Went back and found you had posted a picture of the two different lug nuts. The lug nut on the right is the one you should be using. Look at the diameter of the beveled end, it matches the beveled edge of lug nut hole on your new rim. The larger lug nut are not for that rim. Just look at the difference in tapper, smaller one is correct for rim you have...larger one is not even close.

I don't believe there is any adapter that will help you out here, the stud diameter will be the same. The issue is the lug nuts. Basically, you need to use smaller lug nuts with these rims...and forget about the plastic center covers.

Also, whenever l'm having any tire work done at a tire store...l take the tires to them. Especially, if l'm making any changes in rim or tire size. Don't mean to sound rude...but most of these tire jockeys don't know their ass from a hole in the ground...or the shop has one decent tire tech and he's worth waiting for. When l take my Porsche rims and tires in...l tell the guy up front (not in an asshole type of way, l just say)..."l want your best guy on this job, and if he's busy, l'll wait for him/come back later/make an appointment". It's pretty obvious a flunky installed your tires...if he didn't notice the difference in tapper on those nuts.

Again, not knocking every tire tech out there...just being a realist.

Correct wheels for a DII are hub centric, I'm seeing too large a gap between the raised hub ring and wheel center. In one of the close up pics it shows the wheel is not centered on the hub. The flat faced lugs are the correct ones - ANR4851 are the lugs for that wheel although the lug stud length is too short and could be changed easily. The cone shaped smaller lug nuts are incorrect because there isn't a cone dimple in the rim as there would be with a D1 and Wolf style wheels. D1 wheels are lug centric. A correct wheel to hub fitment on a DII usually requires a mallet and a can of PB Blaster to remove a dissimilar metal corroded wheel from a DII hub..... anyways the vibration is from wheels that are not centered on/to the hubs. Not to sound biased or anything, but I’ve run several different aftermarket aluminum rims on P38/D2’s and I never needed hub centric rings (huge rip off IMHO). I just got new lug nuts that were compatible with the new rims & I never experienced any vibrations or issues. When I tried to be pro-active on my first attempt at a set of aftermarket wheels I bought 65.00 hub centric rings, installed them, and then the wheels. I heard a clicking sound at slow speeds, and upon further inspection the hub centric rings weren’t even making contact with the aftermarket wheels........ I removed the 65.00 wonders & tossed them into the toolbox. I never needed them again.

Currently 2 of my D2’s are running aftermarket aluminum wheels & zero issues. I tighten them with the 5 lug technique of skipping one as I tighten them, once all are snug I torque them down and call it a day.

Obfuscation is more like it.

I think that would be the retailer that sold this hot mess in the first place.

What if it's the hub spigot size cuz they are made in China?

I ordered some H3 LED’s and I laughed when the LED itself was larger than the H3 hole for the bulb to pass thru on 4 different brand Aux lights I had Hella, Pro Comp, IPF, and PIAA. Needless to say 100% worthless!
