Well this weekend, I did a oil change and lubed the grease points. I also did a bit of cleaning inside the truck. Finally I installed the rear bumper light guards I picked up.

Need to wash it next and I finally got the radio out. Now I need to chop up the dash bezel so I can get that double din radio installed.

Took forever but I finally got the dash apart. There are a lot of little hidden screws, and popping the clock out was a pain. So I got the wiring done, and chopped up one of the spare dash surrounds. Need to finish rebuilding that into a double din slot to house this.

Working on sorting out the android stick computer that hooks in through the hdmi on the head unit. That and I need to wire in a usb power port in there 5v 2.1 amp to run it. With the addition of a app it will turn the headunit into a full android operating system and with the gps etc I will have full google nav/maps, pandora, Torque (OBDII code reader with real time monitoring) anything you can do with your phone I'll have on the radio touch screen.

Also a I wanted to thank Vette427SBC for a couple of helpful texts on how to mount this up.

Pioneer AppRadio 3

Turned out the Android Stick was defective, so it's on the way back to amazon. So back to hunting down a good option for the android host. Thinking of picking up a android phone for cheap on ebay with a bad esn. Since I don't need the cell service.

Well I sprung a oil cooler leak, so I have taken the cooler out of the equation for now.

2 20mmx1.5 oil pan drain plugs $4.00 from advance Auto a couple of crush washers and the problem is solved. Oh and remember your oil capacity drops a bit so don't over fill it like I did...

I have picked up a old droid razr HD and have the appradio working good on screen. Audio is still a issue, it seems I need to do a firmware update on the radio than change a setting or two and should be good to go with full connectivity.

Forgot to add, I have always read how cheap and flimsy the front bumpers are on these but I discounted it a bit.

Well I put a bit of weight on mine while leaning into the engine bay and managed to put a 4-5" crack in the top of the bumper....

Yes and no, I would like a new bumper but I don't want to spend the money

I would love a TJM bumper though.

Got the firmware update done on the radio. Now I have full video and audio connection with the stereo and the phone.

Basically I have a full touchscreen mirror of my phone on the radio. All the apps work and display on the phone. Pandora, Torque, and Google Maps/Nav. Nice having a 7" gps screen that has the turn by turn directions over the speakers.

Oh and it can display the PDF workshop manual for the DII lol
