Life with a Free 2000 Discovery II
To finish the Disco day I put on the front Brit plate from my 110 and took my daughter for a quick ride on some green lane type trails. She loved it and it was a nice way to spend 30 mins or so.

I thought it might have had a brush guard at one point due to the scratches on the driver's side fender. They looked like the right spot for a brush guard to have been pushed against it. I wondered what the slit was for now I know, the recovery hook door I just figured fell off at some point

Not sure I'd bother replacing it, as I kinda dig the clean look.

I thought about that or one of those lawn mower filters I see at lowe's or home depot. Only problem I had with making one is mine disintegrated when I removed it.
I'm guessing it doesn't have to be to exact though.

So it acted like a Land Rover this morning. I hopped in to take a Steve Young style overland expedition before eggs and bacon (this means I was going to dunkin donuts the old timers will understand) Turn the key on everything normal, turn the key to start and the Disco goes dark. So of course being a normal man I think that is odd and cycle the key because obviously it will now start since I did this. Normal then dead as soon as the starter goes to engage. So I pop the hood, and break out the volt meter. Sure enough the battery that was a little slow to crank has now fried.
No matter a few weeks back I helped my neighbor strip his car audio stuff cats and a few other bits and bobbles before his old car went to the scrap yard, and he gave me the battery. Quick check with the voltmeter showed it was good to go. Checked the fit and in it went. Hooked it up and the Disco happily fired to life.
Down the road I went to get ice coffee's for myself and Mrs ArmyRover.
