I'm looking at a truck (another P38) that is in good mechanical condition with reasonably low miles (113k). The interior is in VERY good shape.

The paint however, is TERRIBLE. The hood, roof, and one side of the vehicle are really bad. Only the driver's side is remotely acceptable.

Does anyone have any good thoughts or resources for painting a vehicle (java black). I've been quoted $3k - 6k for a full respray and clear coat. What is pictured is prevalent on every horizontal surface of the vehicle and most of one side.

 

that price range seems fair. I believe even to do it yourself you are looking at almost 1k in paint right now. Prices may have come down some from when I last checked maybe 6 months ago as my classic needs a full respray as well.
