Cool 110 shifts to neutral in autostart

Hi all, have a small but annoying problem with my new 110. When using autostart, the gearbox will shift into neutral at certain stops when I let go off the brake pedal. This only happens once in the while, but it always takes a few seconds to put it back in the gear, as there is a slight delay when I shift it back to drive. This is especially annoying when I have cars behind me in traffic! I know I can turn the feature off by pressing the button, but there is no way to permanently disable autostart, and I just forget sometimes. I'm taking the car back to dealer, just wanted to know if anyone ever experienced the same issue and/or was able to resolve this.

I got my ‘23 Defender about a month ago and have been having the same problem. Let me know if the dealer is able to fix it/provide a permanent solution.

They told me to drive with autostart turned off for a week to see if that somehow "resets" the system before I leave the car there for service Doubt it will do anything, but I'll let you know.

Default Same Issue

I have that issue when coming to a stop down a hill which I assume is when autostop is active. I have a 23 aa well with the 4 cylinder.

happy to find this thread today, i have the same issue. posted a different thread about random activation of the parking sensors that's brief and loud, and got the peanut gallery responses around "wash your truck" etc.. but these things are definitely related. i suspected auto start/stop as well, sounds like you feel the same. how did you determine this?

might be great to get other folks to chime in here as well if you've encountered this. seems like a simple software fix once they are made aware. or perhaps there's a specific trigger we could find by comparing notes.

Same issue here!! 23 P300. It is hard to reproduce so I have not taken it into the dealer yet. I have just resorted to turning off auto stop start each time I drive it as I find that feature annoying anyway. For anyone who gets this addressed by the dealer, please keep us posted.

We have a new P300, and it did this to me at an intersection. I found a Topix article (SSM75717) about updating the transmission. It's at the dealer now. I'll see if they do the work described in the Topix article.

Mine does the same thing - 2023 P300. Let me know how it goes.

I'll have to take mine in for a couple issues.

I got the car back. They did the Topix software update, and everything is working fine right now. But it was very intermittent for me. I think it will be a couple of weeks before I know it's completely fixed.

Just a note: At least with my dealer, it is very helpful to bring in the Topix article if there is one. Otherwise, they don't seem to do a lot of research on their own.
