airfliters?
I'm thinking of replacing the stock airfilter with one of the K&N washable filters. Are there any negative effects this could have? The truck is a 1986 110 with 2.5 diesel. Thanks for your suggestions in advance!

After you wash the filter, you're supposed to re-oil the filter. You have to be careful not to over-oil the filter, as the oil will kill your MAF real quick.
Then again, that is assuming the diesels have a similar intake system to gas engines..hrm..

Totally different intake to the petrol (gas) engines - never heard a good thing said about the K&N filters on a diesel... one friend from another site recommends washing them in petrol and then setting it on fire before fitting a new paper filter
On a N/A diesel you're not going to get an appreciable power increase, even if you were to dyno test the engine before and after, and the money you'd spend on the K&N buys an awful lot of paper filters.
Cheers,
