Hi all please can someone tell what is wrong with my defender other than get a garage to check it out. the problem is that my defender can't go into high gear only low gear it is only 4 years old it is a defender 90 it makes such a noise when i try and put into high gear any ideas anyone

 

Can you be more specific? Which "high" gears, which "low gears"? High range or low range?
If it's 1st-5th in the main gearbox then it's probably either your clutch or baulk rings. Can you shift ok when it's not running?
