New Defender to stay rugged and be
more in line with what "traditional" defender/discovery owners want.
Looks like Land Rover feels there is a market for the upscale "rugged/utilitarian" segment....not surprising since the Jeep JK sold 210,715 units world-wide, up 40k from the previous year, and Tata is looking at expanding JK production. Land Rover could easily make a nice profit in this segment if it plays its cards right, even if it may not match, nor want, the volume.
