Default Wheel Spacers advice

Hi, Im new to this and hoping for some good advice! I currently work in the Middle East and put my Defender daily through some pretty serious off roading. I would like to widen the stance of my Defender 110 pick up, for vanity reasons I admit but have also been told it will improve the turning circle.. I have also heard horror stories of excessive ware and wheels falling off ! Can anybody advise if this is true before I make any terrible mistakes that may be expensive!

Usually the damage is from failing wheel bearing that have not been serviced. So, if tiy are adding some spacers, rebuild or replace your front and rear wheel bearings.

We normally do not have any issues with the spacers. What we do see as Mike pointed out is the wheelbearings failing prematurely. If you keep a close eye on them you should be fine.

You only need them on the front to help the turning radius. This is what I did about 11 years ago.

If your hub bearings are in good shape and adjusted and maintained properly you should be fine.
